The Irish Guide dogs have always been close to my heart and a wonderful charity to donate to - and even better to puppy walk for - We, my family and I have puppy walked 4 puppies so far, it was the most wonderful learning curve. A way to experience family life with a special puppy to train and bring everywhere.
As difficult as it was to hand over the beautiful pups (approx 14 months old) to head to cork to start with full training - we felt so rewarded to think we make a very small contribution to the start of full training for the wonderful dogs. Foley ( assistant dog) Zeke ( Guide dog aka Zack ) , Polly ( assistant dog ) and Osprey. The best part for us all is keeping in touch with the families where our puppies went, we even went to a wedding of a couple - where Polly graduated as an assistance dog to their gorgeous boy - We were invited as "the dogs parents" - a great conversation starter, and an absolutely wonderful memorable wedding weekend.
My small contribution will enable them to provide life changing services for people who are blind or vision impaired, and families of children with autism.
With support they will also be able to train the puppies they need to meet the high demand for our services. Your donation will go straight to work helping to turn our eager pups into dedicated Guide Dogs and Assistance Dogs for people across Ireland who desperately need our help
